Token Listings
How tokens appear on the Watergun DEX, what we do and don't endorse, and how to trade safely.
Watergun is permissionless. Any ERC-20 can have a liquidity pool on the V2 or V3 DEX. The presence of a token on Watergun is not an endorsement of that token, its team, its security, or its prospects. Trade accordingly.
How Tokens Get Listed
Watergun is a PancakeSwap fork, which means token listings work exactly the same way:
- Anyone can create a liquidity pool for any ERC-20 pair on any supported chain. No application, no approval, no fee beyond gas.
- The default token list shown in the swap UI is curated for quality and safety — it includes major chain natives, stablecoins, bluechips, and popular local tokens.
- Any other token can still be traded by pasting its contract address into the token selector ("Import Token").
If you've created a token and want it to appear in the default list, open a PR against the token-list repo (link below) or reach out via Telegram.
Default vs Custom Tokens
| Default List | Custom (Imported) | |
|---|---|---|
| Visible in token selector | ✓ | Requires contract paste |
| Vetted by Watergun team | Loosely — removed on abuse | ✗ |
| Can be traded | ✓ | ✓ |
| Price shown in UI | ✓ | Usually ✓ (if pool exists) |
| Warnings on unfamiliar tokens | ✗ | ✓ ("custom token" flag) |
Being on the default list ≠ endorsement. It means the token was popular enough or mainstream enough to include. It does not mean we've audited the contract or the team.
No Endorsement Policy
Watergun does not promote, endorse, or guarantee any token traded on the protocol — including tokens that are:
- Featured in our own UI
- Mentioned in our Telegram or X posts
- Included in the default token list
- Shown in trending charts on third-party aggregators that index Watergun pools
Social-media mentions of individual tokens are for engagement and information — they are not buy recommendations. We don't pump bags, we don't paid-promote tokens, and we don't take listing fees.
Protecting Yourself
Before trading any token on Watergun — whether default or custom:
Verify the contract
Check the contract address on the chain's block explorer. Is the contract verified? Does the source match what you expect? Is there a contract owner with special privileges?
Check liquidity
Shallow liquidity means high slippage, high manipulation risk, and high impermanent loss for LPs. Look at the pool's TVL before trading size.
Check for honeypot patterns
Some scam tokens let you buy but block selling. Use a simulator like Rabby, or a honeypot checker, before committing real funds.
Check trading history
A token with no organic volume or only round-number wash trades is a red flag. Look at holder distribution and trade history on the block explorer.
Decide your size
Only commit what you can afford to lose. This is true for every trade, every time. DeFi is unforgiving.

Requesting an Addition to the Default List
If you'd like a legitimate, well-traded token added to the default list (not a brand-new launch, not a thin-liquidity micro-cap), send a request via:
- Telegram: t.me/watergunpro
- GitHub: open an issue or PR at github.com/9mm-exchange
We'll review based on liquidity, trading history, and community demand. Default-list inclusion is not an audit, security review, or endorsement — see the disclaimer at the top of this page.
